The Town Clerk, as an appointee of the Town Council, acts as liaison between the Council and citizens and is responsible for preserving official historical records. She and the Deputy Clerk serve as support to the Manager and Town Council and conduct a wide variety of functions as required by the Town Code and State statutes.

What We Do:
The Town Clerk is one of four Council appointees. She and the Deputy Clerk serve as support to the Manager and Town Council and conduct a wide variety of functions as required by the Town Code and State statutes. She is custodian of and required to authenticate and authorize the use of the Corporate Seal of the Town. The Town Clerk attends all Council meetings and is responsible for the preservation of the official records and publication of the governing body's minutes and actions.
The Town Clerk is responsible for the following tax programs and administrative duties:
- Business Licenses
- Meals & Lodging Taxes
- Fairview Cemetery - serves as Information Center for and handles inquiries, sales and burial requests
- Authorities, Boards and Commissions - assists with and coordinates appointments
